Sumanjot Kaur majored in Food Technology from Punjab Agricultural University, India. Later, she joined the Department of Food Science at the University of Arkansas for her Masters. During her MS, Suman worked on “Generating Health-Promoting Bioactive Compounds and Nanoporous Materials from Rice Processing Byproducts via Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Technology”, showcasing her commitment in the field of food science. Currently, she is a Ph.D. student at the University of Arkansas and working on soybeans, further expanding her expertise in sustainable food systems. Suman has received many research recognitions, including Sustainable Food System Division student oral competition winner 2023, AOCS Protein and Coproducts student eposter and pitch competition winner 2023, Impactful and innovative student research award at Agri-Food Innovation Summit, Graduate and Professional Student Congress research grant and travel awards. Beyond her scholarly achievements, Sumanjot is a multifaceted individual actively engaged in extracurricular activities. Her participation in diverse spheres outside academia underscores her professional development, leadership, communication, financial, and organizational skills.
