As with all products, quality must be designed into the production process from the start, and all positive attributes of a product are foiled when quality is below expectation.
Palm oil is no different, and not all palm oil is created equal.
Sime Darby Plantation has made long-standing commitments to raising the bar on sustainability and ESG across our supply chain. Ensuring the quality of our products is an integral part of how we produce them and it goes together with our environmental and social commitments. We are currently in the process of transforming all our palm oil mills into world-class food safe facilities to produce food ingredients of the highest quality and purity for our global customers. And one of the key issues we are focusing on is ensuring low levels of MOSH/MOAH in our products.
Unlike process contaminants that can be “mitigated” or removed effectively during processing, low levels of MOSH and MOAH contamination in vegetable oils are best achieved through the avoidance of their introduction in the first instance. This talk will discuss Sime Darby Plantation’s journey in addressing this issue with the aim of delivering the highest quality palm oil products to our customers.
