Megan Harper-Kerr has been an Applications Scientist at GERSTEL, Inc., located just outside of Baltimore, MD with headquarters in Germany, since 2022. Harper-Kerr focuses on using GC-MS automated sample preparation and extraction techniques that are most optimal for a given sample type across a variety of markets, including fragrance/flavor and food and beverage. In doing so, she communicates with analysts frequently to help them optimize their workflows. Harper-Kerr also utilizes a sensory-directed analysis (SDA) approach to identify aroma-active compounds of interest that affect a final product from the eye of the consumer. Since at GERSTEL, Inc., she has become an avid ODP user and has a newfound appreciation for sensory perception in the products that we interact with daily.
