Alyssa Kuang is an eleventh grader of The John Cooper School in The Woodlands, Texas, USA. Inspired by the phenomenon of egg foaming and with the mentorship of Dr. Sun, Alyssa Kuang initiated the research to develop a 100% biobased surfactant, addressing concerns about the environmental impact of synthetic surfactant overuse during the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently, she has expanded her research of protein materials into the domain of structural materials, exploring their use as curing agents for the preparation of adhesives and other applications.
