I am Bolappa Gamage Kaushalya Madhavi passionate and dedicated student, at the Department of Plant, Food and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture, Dalhousie University, Canada awarded the prestigious Killam Predoctoral Scholarship and Nova Scotia Graduate Scholarship for my PhD studies. I have a strong academic background and I am driven by a deep curiosity to explore the frontiers of knowledge in the Plant, Food and Environmental Sciences area. I hold an MSc degree in Biosystems Engineering from Gyeongsang National University, South Korea and a BSc degree in Agricultural Technology and Management specializing in Food Science and Technology from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Throughout my academic journey, I have published research articles in peer-reviewed SCI/E journals and awarded Young Pioneer Researcher and Best Presenter and Flash Talk Competition awards, Grand Prize and Excellence awards for outstanding research concepts. Currently, my research focuses on the identification of bioactive peptides derived from food by-products to exert specific bioactivities in the human body using in-silico and in-vitro analysis methods. Besides, I actively engage in the academic community and have presented research at various national and international conferences. I am enthusiastic about exchanging ideas and collaborating with fellow researchers to address real-world challenges in Plant, Food and Environmental Sciences.
