Doctor in Material Science, Physico-Chemical Engineer
ENSIACET/INPT-INRAE
Toulouse, France
After graduating from the Bordeaux School of Chemistry and Physics, I have been working on biomass valorization projects since 2004 at the Laboratoire de Chimie Agro-Industrielle in Toulouse, France. I have been mainly involved in the extraction and chemical modification of oilseed lipids and other natural or synthetic glycerol derivatives. My thesis focused on the extraction of phospholipids from camelina seeds and their controlled oxidation to obtain new vesicles with an in vitro and in silico study (molecular dynamics, semi-empirical modeling, DFT...). Since 2019, I'm also working on life cycle assessment in different projects and I'm currently working in a European project (Sea2Land) aiming to valorize fish waste for bio-fertilization and a French ANR project OLEOPROTID aiming to extract, characterize protein fractions from different camelina genotypes. I have given courses on life cycle assessment to students at ENSIACET (Ecole Supérieure d'Ingénierie Chimique, des Matériaux et Industrielle) and ENSAT (Ecole Supérieure d'Agriculture et des Sciences de la Vie). I have published some thirty scientific articles and have taken part as an oral presenter in 4 annual AOCS meetings, including the previous one in Montréal in 2013. This one is the fifth.
