After completing my bachelors degree in Food Technology from Nepal, I joined Dr. Bishnu Karki's Lab at South Dakota State University, USA, for MS in Biology with Microbiology specialization in Spring 2023. My research focuses on adding value to sunflower processing byproducts using fermentation technology. Besides this project, I'm also involved in side projects that focus on valorizing other agriwastes such as canola meal, thin stillage and soybean hulls. We aim to revolutionalize current agricultural system by emphasizing on the concept of circular bioeconomy and we try to make this possible by using naturally available fungi as the fermenting microbes.
