Birgitte is passionate about science. Biotechnology has been the focal point throughout Birgitte’s career where the combination of basic research and applied biotechnology has created a strong innovative profile. Birgitte is a specialist in protein chemistry, that combined with her inherent curiosity have built scientific and technical competences in a broad spectrum of scientific areas.
Birgitte has 20+ year experience from the biotech industry – ranging from pharmaceutical to technical and food areas. Birgitte was one of the initiators of the Novozymes’ Advanced Protein Solutions back in 2019, and has been driving the scientific and technological development in this Novozymes area.
Birgitte’s educational background is a Master degree in biochemistry from University of Copenhagen and a PhD in Structure and Function of Membrane Proteins from The Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University. She has a solid scientific background in basic research from University of Copenhagen, The Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University, Uppsala Biomedical Center, UC Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory.
