[SOLD OUT!] Join fellow colleagues for a tour the unparalleled Saint-Hyacinthe Research and Development Centre, the largest food and food processing research and development center in Canada! The Saint-Hyacinthe RDC is one of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s (AAFC) network of 20 research and development centres and specializes in processing, quality, food safety, and bio-ingredients. Round-trip motorcoach transportation between the Palais des congrès de Montréal and Saint-Hyacinthe Research and Development Centre is included. Advance registration is required. The tentative schedule is as follows:
3:25 p.m.: Arrive at the Saint-Hyacinthe Research and Development Centre
3:25–4 p.m.: Presentations in the conference room. There will be welcoming remarks by the Centre’s director Jean-Baptiste Sarr, a presentation of the RDC Research and Capacity by Lamia L’Hocine, and a presentation of Saint-Hyacinthe Technopole by Karine Guilbault.
4–5 p.m.: Visit the research laboratories, pilot plants, and sensory lab. Small groups will visit 10 different stations: 1) Dr. Fadi Ali, advanced technologies lab; 2) Dr. Julie Brassard, food safety program at CRD (Level2-Labs); 3) Dr. Isabelle Germain, presentation of the in vitro dynamic gastrointestinal digestion platform (IVIDIP); 4) Dr. Alain Clément, Spectroscopy Lab; 5) Dr. Hassan Sabik, analytics service; 6) Presentation of the Climate and Transport Chambers; 7) dairy pilot plant; 8) general pilot plant; 9) Bio fermentation pilot plant; and 10) sensory lab.
5–5:15 p.m.: Souvenir picture of all participants!
5:15 p.m.: Depart Saint-Hyacinthe RDC
6:15 p.m.: Arrive back at the Palais des congrès de Montréal
