Filtration is a key process to guarantee a finished product without impurities or traces of processing aids used during the refining process. Keeping the filters operating within the recommended parameters, is essential for an optimum performance and for a cost-effective, hassle-free operation. As simple as it looks, it is challenging to do so because of several reasons. PLF are the most used filters in the industry for Main Filtration, as well as bag and cartridge filters are used for the safety and polishing stages. In this presentation we will review the recommended operational parameters for PLF and the potential consequences of operating outside of them. We will also review the troubleshooting for the most known issues with this type of filters.
