Abstract: Bleaching is an important step in the processing of vegetable oils where undesirable substances are removed from the oils prior to deodorization. Bleaching strongly depends on the previous steps of the process, in this case we evaluated the impact of the acid degumming with de use of a mix of inorganic/organic acid and its impact on the color, as well as the metals contents (phosphorous and calcium) in the deodorized oil.
