Laundry detergents that provide excellent primary and secondary cleaning benefits are highly desirable to customers, however, global trends toward cold water cleaning have made the removal of greasy soils a significant challenge. Detergents typically include surfactants among other formulation components to deliver these benefits. A move to reduce the utilization of surfactants is growing due to increasing sensitivity for the environment and rising materials costs, and detergent manufacturers are seeking ways to reduce the total amount of surfactant per unit dose of laundry detergent while maintaining overall cleaning performance. This talk will focus on the development of a new biodegradable cleaning booster that enables a reduction in surfactant in liquid laundry detergent and provides excellent primary and secondary cleaning of greasy stains.
