Purification of Renewable Diesel Feedstock through Adsorbent Filtration

Renewable diesel feedstocks; used cooking oil (UCO), animal fats, crude vegetable oils, or blends thereof, contain metal ion and phospholipid contaminants which can reduce the life of precious metal catalysts used in the production of renewable diesel. These impurities are typically removed in a pre-treatment process incorporating water-wash, chemical degumming, and dry-washing.
