Our combined history
Trajan Scientific and Medical acquired Axel Semrau GmbH in 2021. This expanded Trajan’s capabilities in automation, chromatography, and software.
Trajan Automation's presence was primarily in North America, whereas, Axel Semrau’s focus was in Europe. Axel Semrau’s expertise dominated in the food and environmental markets and Trajan’s in the pharmaceutical and clinical segments. The common denominator across the merged business is a shared purpose of “Science that benefits people” and a vision of "Enriching personal health through scientific tools and solutions.”
We now offer all workflow systems globally, taking advantage of the CHRONOS software originally developed at Axel Semrau. Our systems offer tailored solutions to meet customer needs.
AxelSemrau added more than 40 years of experience in the distribution and development of system solutions for chromatography and mass spectrometry to our business.
Our solutions
Our major focus is the efficient automation of complex workflows in the laboratory. Sample preparation and analysis techniques of GC-MS and LC-MS are integrated into one workstation. To realize this, we develop hardware and software. This enables time efficient design of the workflows. Therefore, the basis of our automation, our CHRONOS software, was named after the god of time. The automation solutions are sold under the brand name CHRONECT. A combination of the software name and the term "to connect." By connecting our customers workflows we support them to efficiently provide quality solutions in their lab.
Our product range includes many solutions for the food industry e.g. CHRONECT Workstations for MOSH/MOAH for mineral oil contaminants; MCPD for MCPDs and glycidols; analysis of Phtalates in edible oil; and other solutions for food analysis using LC-GC technology
Our people
The employees behind the technology are critical to our success. They drive forward product developments and applications, providing solutions to the problems of everyday laboratory life. To provide customers with reliable and personal support even in times of change, employees work in the areas of research and application development, technology and customer service, sales and marketing, administration and logistics. Our team members include those with scientific knowledge in chemistry, biology, IT and economics. Trajan's purpose characterizes the daily work of our enthusiastic team.
Our global presence
Trajan is a global developer and manufacturer of analytical and life sciences products and devices with a vision to enrich personal health through scientific tools and solutions. These tools and solutions are used in the analysis of biological, food, and environmental samples. Trajan has a portfolio and pipeline of new technologies which support the move towards decentralized, personalized data-based healthcare.
Trajan is a global organization of more than 600 people, with seven manufacturing sites across the US, Australia, Europe and Malaysia, and operations in Australia, the US, Asia, and Europe.
